«When a child, I used to idolize John McClane, I have always considered his optimism and cynicism to be much better than Schwarzenegger’s muscles or Stallone’s dull face»

I don’t know why but people today get more interested in short-lived things, I mean people are no more focused on timeless values.

People tend not to appreciate in others traits they themselves would rather not have. From my own complexes, I would say I demand a great deal from other people.

I can’t stand people playing great men and showing off, whatever. You know what I feel like doing? Knocking their blocks fucking off!. (laughing)

I like to smell newly printed money and top-quality printers’ ink.

The magic about the cinema lies in the fact that a camera and a man standing behind can create everything on Earth, for example to get back to the past or to travel to the future, or even to build a unique Universe. The way I treat the brand-new tricks is just people’s unwillingness to create something with their own hands. Nowadays computer stands for creativity.

When a child I used to idolize John MacClane, I have always considered his optimism and cynicism to be much better than Schwarzenegger’s muscles or Stallone’s dull face.

I can rattle along all the time. Being at some party, at some certain moment I feel I get this charm when I can continuously make out various stories, declaim something, acting and making fun. It gives you a special sort of adrenaline becomes the only way you can do from then on. You are going ape over yourself and everybody around is just getting jealous.

When USSR collapsed I was given a toy railway road. It’s like I got other things to fuss about and did not care about the impacts incurred by the collapse. I got much more serious things to do.

I wish we could move forward with a run, I mean I wish we could tackle all kinds of problems. It’s always useful to puzzle over day-to-day problems of average complexity.

I adore wires. There’s nothing I enjoy more than connecting something to something. A bundle of cables, connectors and pinholes can drive me out of reality for the whole of the day.

After USSR collapse people lost their national individuality. They used to have soviet minds and then they were offered to choose any other pattern which led to their losing this cultural stem. That was the time we opened to the West, which turned out to be an endless source of new ideas to borrow. I guess it’s the underlying reason why I do not trust Russian cinema, it all seems Hollywood-like but still lacking so many things.

I think you stop imagining things when you watch too much porno. I mean porno needs to be dosed as it often becomes an arousal source substitute. Moreover, there’s so much of it all in the tube you would think we all are porno addicts. (laughing)

Everybody’s singing in the shower. It’s all about good acoustics. You know what, it’s even better to slightly move the curtain aside as it damps the sound down a great deal, and besides tiles usually reflect sound in a bad way.

I’d like to meet Kurt Wimmer and ask him what made him film such a crap as “Ultraviolet” after having filmed “Equilibrium”.

Girls just like cats: they need us to arrange it all in such a way as to get them exactly on our way, but they remain sure they decide for themselves at that. (laughing)

When you are willing to spend a certain sum of money you’ll certainly get the opportunity to do so, you just need to be patient. Once a dream gets shaped in your mind, you start act technically even without noticing it.

Losers tend to look for an excuse and sensible people search for the way out. Only those get nothing who do nothing.

I could be much more intelligent should I take some pains. But I am lazy and in an urgent need for a time-management training so that I could use my time in a more effective way.

I can blow up for nothing and that is no good. Aggression burns you from the inside and it can be very hard to let it out and to spit it out completely. It takes quite a great deal of both efforts and time to pace yourself but it’s really worth learning. Nearly everyone needs it.
