«I always have a voice recorder with me. I record some thoughts, ideas that come to me, for example when I’m driving»

Everyone gets his/her ideas from different sources. If I drive and see an effin old ramshackle house, I simply just take a picture of it even without knowing what for. Then I come home and begin to work with this material.

Everything needs to be learned to. Diligence is the mother of success. If someone sets himself an aim and has been drawing a circle for a whole fucking year, he will draw it perfectly afterwards without any compasses. It is all the matter of practice and aspiration.

I read only the “Esquire”. All other magazines are just for looking through.

If you engage in something, you need to do it not on the I-did-it level, but on the I-know-how one. There surely must be a theoretical foundation for everything.

A super-project can be made even by the simplest means, by the simplest software, as the cornerstone of everything is the idea.

I can’t call myself a racer.I do not race for money. I effin like the sense of speed, the sense of leadership, the adrenaline. I also like it a lot when I manage to do something that others can’t. But I don’t have a N2O-packed car, nor a busty girl waving a flag.

I spent all my childhood with some guys at the twelfth floor of our house drinking beer and vodka and smoking cigarettes. So I went through every adventure typical for that environment. We committed petty offences, escaped from cops and played mean tricks…

If I get down to work I’m always satisfied by the results. But I detest all that shit in the morning. I just look at it and say: “What the fuck did I do yesterday!?” And then I begin making it all over again… But sitting, smoking a pot, seeking and waiting for an inspiration is not for me! I take it to be stereotypic bullshit!

I like mountain skis, mountain climbing, racing… In short, all active kinds of sport. I also go in for kudo sport sometimes. You couldn’t possibly sustain an injury there: your nose and your teeth are always safe. I just want to wrestle from time to time.

When I was a boy I wanted to be a programmer… a hacker (laughs). At first I got admitted to programming faculty of a polytechnic university, studied there for half a year and had to retake higher maths exam for six times. I couldn’t get even a C-grade! So I understood that I couldn’t make a good programmer and transferred to the design faculty of another university.

I always have a voice recorder with me. I record some thoughts, ideas that come to me, for example when I’m driving.

Ideas usually come when you don’t think about it. In my case it effin happens to me just before bed. I come home from work, my mind still running on, and I don’t know how to do a certain thing. Then I roll up in my bed for an hour and then — Boink! — I get up and write down everything.

In my second grade at school, a girl whom I passionately loved moved to another country. She just went away. I want to find her; it is interesting how she looks now. Just like in this “Wait for me” TV-show. She was the most beautiful and the cleverest girl in our school. I hope she’s ugly now and has many children, so that I wouldn’t be kicking myself.

I haven’t been to my favorite place yet.

I didn’t use to get that Paris-related obsession. But when I came to Paris myself I felt its vibrancy. I’m not the apologist of the words “See Paris and die”, so I’m not ready to live my whole life there. But there’s definitely something special about it.

I’m more of a cat lover, but I like dogs, too.

I’ve got a little pitch-black Pomeranian. It’s like a dope! This dog happily greets you coming home and follows you everywhere. It’s a little crappy, but it is so exciting to play with that dog!

Every original idea becomes mass after some time: you see something invented by someone, you like it and try to copy it… and in five years everybody would be drawing those vector-based characters.

Internet is the best way to invest. I remember the times when I had to explain “what Internet means” and why it is important for a company to have a website. It was a hard work. And now it just makes me smile. I kinda happened to see the very dawn of it all. Now you don’t have to explain anything as everyone is far more versed in techniques. Needless to say that the Internet is the future of humanity and that all office activities are getting inseparable from the Internet. It should seem obvious.
