«I could have never had become anything else but a DJ. Back at school, I always used to be the one to play the cassettes during the discos. I’ve always been going side by side with music, and she — side by side with me»

The feelings you get from a performance depend a lot on the place where you’re playing and the people who are listening to you. What’s also important is how well you match together. Sometimes there would be a tremendous response, a real energy exchange between you and the audience. It’s an amazing feeling. And sometimes there would be nothing. You just stand there like a human radio, and broadcast something. The greatest pleasure is when me and my listener understand each other.

Music can arouse amazing feelings, emotions and take one to another world.

You can even feel this response when you’re playing in a DJ-café. You notice it straightaway when you look at people, how they immerse into the atmosphere you’re creating, how it changes the way they talk, the way they move. And eventually they just walk up to you and thank you. And even though working in a café is a toilsome job, you can always come up with some witty solution, say, start playing something that would be completely out of line for this type of place, to strike people with some kind of contrast. You can turn anything into a show, even if it’s just a job in a café.

To make a full-time DJ, it’s crucial that you have music education and write your own music, make arrangements, remixes. Nowadays, the ranks of DJs number in millions, which is largely facilitated by DJ-schools, where they don’t quite teach you the right stuff. The job of a DJ is the evolvement of melomania.
And you have to keep it up. Americans call this “personality development”. You have to take interest in everything that has to do with music.

Remixes are a DJ’s vision of music, his perception of it. Whatever he hears, he has to get the feel of and then create an adapted version for people to dance or listen to. This way a DJ re-energizes the composition. So making remixes is an absolutely normal thing to do for a DJ.

The only thing that matters to me is what a person’s got in his mind and what he says. It’s not that I think that clothes make the man, rather you can say I’m convinced of that. It’s obvious when a person is trying to prove something with his clothes, and it’s also obvious when a person is self-confident enough even without that.

You have to treat cats with respect, and they will love you and share their warmth with you. I tend to believe that cats are the most mysterious, unfathomable, fascinating, and kind creatures. And, contrary to popular opinion, they are very loyal too. A cat is the only truly homely pet. Even a dog isn’t really homely, it must stay outside.

Keeping a pet is good for kids’ upbringing. It teaches them to be kind and gives them an experience of caring for someone. Pedagogically, pets are very useful.

The most crucial thing for a modern person is to try not to loose oneself. Every person is an individual, and we’ve all come to this world for a reason. However, the superfluous stream of useless information is harmful for us, it ruins us, so the first thing you have to do is switch off the TV, sit down, and think of who you are, and then start looking for yourself. But first of all — try not to loose yourself.

One has to do good and be useful. It’s as simple as it is, but it does work.

If everyone starts being useful, the world will change for the better. That’s for sure!

I could have never had become anything else but a DJ. Back at school, I always used to be the one to play the cassettes during the discos. I’ve always been going side by side with music, and she — side by side with me.

My dream is that my daughter grows to become her own person, that she is beautiful, smart, that she finds herself and that everything goes well in her life. At the moment, I can only think about my daughter and what her future is going to be like.
