The most famous Lithuanian in the world is Arvidas Sabonis. He’s a great basketball player and he managed to play both for Europe and for America, that’s why he’s our main celebrity. Basketball is a kind of national idea in Lithuania, generally. At first all the kids go in for basketball and only if it is no go, they try another aport.

My brother — Deividas  — is also a football player, he plays for Greece now. Our sport fans nicknamed us nontrivially, they call us both “Chesnok”. Although my partners call me just “Ches”.

Paris is the best place on Earth. It is so beautiful there. I go to the sea in winter, when all the football players go on vacation. But when I have only a couple of holidays I always visit Paris. Good thing I have the European passport and I don’t need the visa. I’m not a very creative person, so I don’t come to Paris to visit Louvre. I just wander around the city’s center, sit in cafes and relax.

I’d like to meet with Cristiano Ronaldo at supper. It won’t be easy for me to hold a discussion as my English isn’t well, but I’d like to chitchat with him about football. A lot of people don’t like Cristiano, he is said to be not manly and simulating. But your result in football is the most important thing regardless of the ways of getting it.

Money is never enough. And my aim is to make provision for myself and start my own business, that will yield some return even when finish with football. It will be enough for me.

My first date was when I was 14. I still remember it. I need hardly say, it was my first love and it was my tender age. Even a kiss was a hard thing at that time. I lived in a small Lithuanian town with population only about 15 thousand, and there was nowhere to go out. We met at 6 p.m. and had a walk. Of course I was all excited, but… I still didn’t kiss her.

Sometimes I am capricious. My biggest whim was when I refused to play for Lithuanian national football team because of our coach. We misunderstood each other, had a row with each other via newspapers, and then I got into a huff and became whimsical. As the result I was absent from Lithuanian national team. I am principled. If I get offended I hardly forgive.
