«I hardly didn’t become an actor. When a child I stared in “Eralash” crowd much. When I was 7 I could star in the film called «Shorty Napoleon III», but I happened to catch a dreadful flue and another boy got the role»

Well, as a matter of fact I am philologist. To put it in Russian I am a lover of a word. I’ve graduated from the philological faculty, MSU. I guess there were something about 220 people in our year. And girls made 190 of them. Two years on end we went to gather potatoes (there were also students, who studied a year earlier, and the correlation was the same). This is the time of my youth. We didn’t play football there you know.

To my mind the Russian television lacks interesting author and politic program, as well as some committed ones. I also wish there were more educating, upbringing, moralizing programs, which will possibly teach our population being rather wild at times I should say how to behave. There are not enough programs aiming at satisfying adequate ambitions of really talented authors as opposed to overall plans to make money or place one’s relative at a good work.

I hardly didn’t become an actor. When a child I stared in “Eralash” crowd much. When I was 7 I could star in the film called «Shorty Napoleon III», but I happened to catch a dreadful flue and another boy got the role.

In 2005 my wife and me took a drive along England and Wales. That was the most pacific trip we’ve ever had. Just imagine these remote towns, the magic of Snowdonia, bed&breakfast among the Welsh hills and lakes and watching these hills with sheep grassing on them mirror in pearly water in the morning, and the tranquility surrounding you all over, and no one for about a couple of miles around; and then damping sun in the Atlantics accompanied by a glass of fantastic Kurnool ale at Lands’ End; clotted cream scones in a small café at the town’s embankment where illusive Alice spent her vacations. That was the trip I would run all my life.

What are my favourite places in Moscow? The very same you meet at the last pages of “Master and Margaret”, you can see my house from there by the way. I also like the piece of the embankment between the 1st and the 3rd Frunzenskaya street, I guess I walked more than several hundred kilometers there within the period between 1986 and 1992. I also like the view on Neskuchniy Garden from our embankment, especially in the period of golden autumn.

I don’t read effusively, I do read. Sometimes I do it with great attention and sometimes with pleasure. Well the later happens when I take my favourite Dovlatov, I know him almost by heart, Bertrand Russell being read with great deal of attention.

The Internet is pure evil, that will lead the humankind to nowhere. I do use the net only for the purpose of getting information or self promotion. I consider net socialization with strangers, especially with anonymous users to be highly harmful, moreover I do think that it contradicts the very nature of human communication which is actually based on biofields interaction, energy interchange. This interchange has nothing to do with words.

My favourite band is Metallica. I belong to the group’s official fan club, which enabled me to meet the musicians before they started performing in Copenhagen in 2009. That was the most longed-for meeting in my life. I’d been waiting for 25 years.

The centre of the world? Hey, that’s so obvious — that is in my brain. That is the mechanism, which represents my worldview, that is the mechanism, which indicates the frame I am into. Once my brain dies, my world will die as well.

Egoism, shown adequately, leads to happiness. Learn how to love yourself, how to get along well with the world around you and you will manage to love all others.

I wish my son became my closest friend, but he is too little so far for me to realize whether it is possible…
