Guys, it happened at last! Now I am going to add Israel to my travel record! You don’t even imagine how long it took me to come to the scratch… I guess these were deeply dug Jewish roots of my genealogical tree that still managed to appear. So what? I wasn’t even juiced so you’d better turn over the page once you intend to read about holy places (still there will be some details though) and bliss awing connected with them. The trip presupposed getting acquainted with the country in most various aspects. Historical and archaeological were the first. Tiberias, Nazareth and their surroundings come first in the list. We courageously listened to the whole of the guide’s performance in order not to feel as moral freaks. It’s high time to point out that we got a wonderful guide: Jewiess and Hebrewess, smart and beautiful cookie, to say nothing of her sense of humor. To cut a long story short – she was an “all inclusive” set. In accordance with the plan we visited the most popular places: mount Tabor, Armageddon’s foot, extremely ancient Jericho and a great deal of other “must-visits”… But now I guess eating pickles in one of the road café is the only thing I can recall. You may treat me as a real boor, but all these stones seem to me to be as like as peas. The only difference is that this stone is 2.800 years old and that one is 200 years older. In addition to all this I can’t say that I was greatly impressed by their Jewish trick like: “it’s 100% sure, that this MAY have been the place where… “ Then we went to Jerusalem, the part ...

When it comes to travelling, fashion magazines unanimously dart off to search for trends. And that is really an unwelcome work as the all-our-guys-being-there tendency can be much of a delusion. Taking into consideration the complexity and certain dullness of travelling preferences analysis, they prefer to rely on word-of-mouth to point out the trendy directions. The routine looks like this: a travel editor, being exhausted by his meditations whether winter in Andamans is trendy or not, or, for instance, whether it’s weird to recommend skiing in Davos, pressures the colleague, responsible for society column. So here he stands, sparkling threateningly with his restless mad eyes and demands the very fresh data on celebrities’ preferences. Where is a restaurant keeper Petrov going to bring his young wife? Where is celebutante Sidorova going to show her new skiing costume, sparkling with constellations of rhinestones? Fingering her coil of hair, the society columnist will recall yesterday’s talks at the charitable party and will issue a portion of rumours: Sidorova has rented a shale in Saint-Moritz for some other ten years, so it’s only natural that all of her novelties will be shown in the mentioned above place; as for Petrov, he brings every new wife of his to Miami first, the current year being not an exception. That is the moment when the travel editor is about to moan, understanding the total “untrendiness” of the places. But the gossip columnist can possibly save the situation and recall that the gallery owner Ivanova mentioned her having been ...

When the football season is over, the Russian sport will continue. Hard drinks straight within the match, the ghost of channels of St. Petersburg and a foreign two meters tall writer – that is the way FaceGallery narrates about four cities, worth going for watching sport, when football stadiums are closed for winter. ST.PETERSBURG - HOCKEY Object. The continental hockey league makes the Russian answer to NHL, which is the most successful hockey project on Earth. A year and a half ago “Gazprom” partners decided to unite the best teams from Russia, Latvia, Kazakhstan and Belorussia in one championship. The project also presupposed adding some celebrities, who had somehow failed to succeed abroad and were on their trips between Khabarovsk and Riga. Team. SKA is a hockey team from the banks of Neva, which became popular through the “Dachniki” album by “Leningrad” band. Well, that seems to be their only success at the Russian territory. This season they are ever closer to their debut triumph: they’ve got lots of money, celebrities and enough points – SKA managed to get into the three favourites of the championship within this winter. The environment is totally corresponding. They had built a luxurious Ice Hockey Stadium by the St.Petersburg championship 2000. It can house up to 12.300 people, which exceeds any other arena of KHL. The Palace is fully crowded practically at all matches. And you can get the appeal: corridors smelling caramel pop-corn, soft seats swinging on the tribunes and a great scene view from any of them. Star. Darius ...

I bought a voucher to Lithuania in the course of economic crisis and pig influenza. It’s when you are frightened to go to Spain, you can’t afford to go to Croatia and your pride does not allow you to go to Turkey. I was looking forward to swimming in a cold sea and pretending a European just in case: after all I was going to rebellious Baltics, where a former Wehrmacht soldier had been the ex-president for a couple of months only. The trip resulted into the fact that I am safe and sound, tanned and I do want to come back. PLACES TO STAY By the sea. I mean Palanga. The resort has been wide known from the Soviet times due to its balneological bonuses. Well, I must confess it’s far from being Ibiza: people mostly bring families here, the energetic night life presented in promo leaflets being merely reduced to light cafes in the main street Basanavičius, an amusement park, few clubs and sea photo sessions. These are mostly Russians and Lithuanians that rest here. People who are 25 and older all speak Russian, the rest of communication becomes possible due to either English or the language of gestures. Some approximate prices: Train tickets (Lithuanian railways): Turn-Return sleeping car tickets for two – Euro 500. Vilnius-Palanga bus – Euro 20 Accommodation rent: 40-50 Euro/day in high season Dinner in a café: Euro 5-10 Bicycle rent: 7 Euro/day Petrol 95: 1,1 Euro/l. Beach and sea: free of charge[/hl]Provided your Schengen Visa is valuable you can go to Palanga on your own, I mean without a tour operator. On the 10th day of my holiday I ...
